Glass is always half full for one of our mister men

Granted last week’s View from the stands question had a touch of the “pre-school” about it but it still encouraged many of you to get your thinking caps on. I asked if you were a Mr. Men character who would you be and why. Inevitably Mr. Angry, Mr. Grumpy and Mr. Rude showed up though it was nice to see Mr. Happy put in an appearance while the sight of the lesser known Mr. Preparing for world domination, Mr. big belly and Mr. Silly was a pleasant surprise.
The winner of the £10 in bonus credits for this week however is none other than the Dark Star Stables who claimed if they were a Mr. Men character they would be Mr. Optimisticalywaitingformylucktochange! I have to say I’ve never come across this particular one but presume it’s because that name could never fit on those tiny books! Many congratulations Dark Star stables and well done on passing the 50 wins mark too. More bonus credits to be given away this week, see the competitions section of the forums for more details.

Thesidleyspanker showing others how it’s done

I have no idea what the name of this stable means. Might it have slightly rude connotations? very possibly, but one thing I do know is that this is a stable that’s going places. Recently the grey diamonds crossed the line first for the 1,000th time and with over 100 horses in the stable it’s certainly one with bags of potential. Thesidleyspanker yard opened its doors on December 8th 2009 and just over a year later has 1,009 wins in total (700 of those in rated races and 300 in graded) and winnings in excess of £11,000 shows just how seriously racing is taken here.
I have a feeling this is the kind of stable that works hard and parties hard, the perfect combination! Reacting to the levels of success Mr. Spanker (as some call him!) wrote “I have just noticed that I have moved up the ranks to master stable with 1,000 winners. I assume I will now be treated with the contempt most other master stables are treated lol. It’s not bad for a stable that started with £200 in deposits in the first month and £20 a month until the stable turned self-sustaining. Longevity in this game can be inexpensive with patience and a bit of effort (and not forgetting luck!). Looking forward to the next 1000”

Lonesome Dove becomes merry Magpie!

When you call your stable after a bird (literally that is) then the headline writers will deem you go one of two ways. Either you’re flying high or nose-diving! For the Lonesome dove yard it’s very much a case of the former rather than the latter. Though only with us for five months Lonesome dove picked up the 100th win of the yard last week and on Sunday in Australia the exciting two-year-old colt “Apache Whit” picked up the first win of the next hundred! Whether it be in the Wild West or on the virtual horse tracks of the world you always get the feeling that Lonesome Dove will be flying high! But just watch out below for you know what!!

Lock up your colts and fillies! – Garrys back!

If you felt something was missing from Raceclubs in recent weeks then I think I know what it was. Flying fillies stable owner Garry had a well earned holiday and by the sounds of things he and his Mrs. had a ball. In true Raceclubs style he didn’t waste anytime filling his fellow owners in on the shenanigans and wrote “Hi everyone, Lol had a great time and the weather was great. Plenty of drink and lost a fortune in the casino, but such is life. lol Sorry fro all the inboxs that aint been answered but I will get round to it over the next few days. Just through the door and had to kick all the bills to one side so I could get in. Catch you later.”
