Oh the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful,
And since we've no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

It doesn't show signs of stopping,
And I've bought some corn for popping,
The lights are turned way down low,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

When we finally kiss goodnight,
How I'll hate going out in the storm!
But if you'll really hold me tight,
All the way home I'll be warm.

The fire is slowly dying,
And, my dear, we're still good-bying,
But as long as you love me so,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Exclusive: Amber’s dilemma selling to DerekW10!

Exclusive: Amber Fields’ Dilemma Selling Dezza To DerekW10!

RaceClubs.com: What was your immediate reaction when you saw Dezza's TTs?
Amber Fields: When I first pulled the horse from the ring and started training it I thought this must be a mistake as it was already better naked than a lot of my horses. I decided to contact Derekdw10 (top bloke) about the horse and the TTs which I sent him. Sure enough it was a monster and Derek knew there would even be more to come from him which not surprisingly given Derek’s ace record there was.

RaceClubs.com: Was it an easy decision to sell, on the one hand you knew you had a serious contender for the Challenge Series vs. making the biggest sale in the history of virtual horse racing?
Amber Fields: There was the dilemma about what do I do with him. This took a few days to sink in and after a lot of thought and changing my mind I decided that if Derek made me an offer I couldn’t refuse I would accept, as at the end of the day I am still learning the game and Derek would certainly do well with the horse. However I must quickly mention That Derek also offered to help me with the horse and to win my first final which is why the decision took so long to make. With the deal made we have been in constant contact and trained the horse for 3 weeks. However Derek was 0.03 lengths out with the predicted TTs. LOL!

RaceClubs.com: How are you going to spend / invest your returns on the sale of Dezza?
Amber Fields: To sell the most expensive horse on RC is unbelievable especially as I only joined the game in September 2011. With the money from the auction I have around 4 top horses that again Derek is helping me to race in the Challenge Series and an amazing holiday booked for next year.

Thank you for the congratulations on the sale of Dezza and I wish Derek the best of luck with the horse.

All the best,
Andrew from Amber Fields

Derekw10 invests £4,799 in the future of virtual horse racing with a cartoon horse!

Derekw10 Invests In The Future Of Virtual Horse Racing

Derekw10’s future in virtual horse racing looks assured if his latest purchase lives up to its price tag.

He just paid £4,799.97 for Dezza, an unraced two year old virtual racehorse from Amber Fields’ stable, in the latest online auction at RaceClubs.com. While the virtual horse racing community is excited about the record-breaking transfer they aren’t sure what to expect from Dezza because Amber Fields cleverly concealed Dezza’s highest training records so they weren’t visible for public consumption and Derekw10 stubbornly refuses to release any video footage of Dezza’s training runs. The only reliable information about Dezza potential is his price tag- and that’s not a comforting thought.

Derekw10 does admit that even though he hasn’t decided how he’s going to race the young colt, he does foresee a future that includes Dezza winning the Ladbrokes Monthly Challenge, Stayers Challenge Final, The Derby and the St. Leger and the Cesarewitch Challenge Final to become the greatest horse in the history of RaceClubs.com. Or, he adds, “I might race him all out!”

Investing £4,799.97 in a virtual race horse may seem imprudent but it’s not uncommon in the virtual horse racing community for trainers to sell their horses for thousands of dollars on RaceClubs.com. It’s all part of the game, where owning a champion race horse capable of competing in the Challenge Series is equally rewarding and prestigious. The highest selling price for a virtual horse was established when Pompadours sold Auroborealis for £4,851.63. Dezza slots in at £4,799.97, followed by Holteender, Public Enemy No1 and He's A Goodone, who all sold for over £3,150.00 and still earned double their selling price. But it looks like Derekw10 might even set his sights on replacing La Gazza Ladra as the highest earning horse of all time.

One thing the virtual horse racing community can anticipate from the Derekw10 / Drezza partnership is some of the most exciting racing from one of the site’s most knowledgeable trainers on one of the most exciting horses of our time.

If you want to see Drezza in action, stay tuned to watch tonight’s Monthly League Challenge Qualifier-2YC.

RaceClubs.com's Top Ten Auction Prices

Horse From To  Cost
Auroborealis pompadours Nemesis Stud £4,851.63
Dezza Amber Fields derekw10 £4,799.97
Holteender Weaver83 Andy Hargie Stables £3,838.59
Public Enemy No1 Nacho Libre Wrs Stables £3,423.42
He's A Goodone pompadours Andy Hargie Stables £3,150.00
Forza Del Destino SHANDYMAN MrTug £3,099.60
SilverBullet Jonz Jonz79 Andy Hargie Stables £2,971.08
El Nino Got A Bro Black Death derekw10 £2,960.37
Cozmic Millennium shotgun_mike derekw10 £2,598.75
Sri Lanka Dommo Andy Hargie Stables £2,525.04

RaceClubs.com is played in numerous currencies so for consistent recordkeeping all transactions are converted to US dollars while other currencies would fluctuate. Therefore, Auroborealis’ $7,701 selling price makes him the most expensive horse in the world of virtual horse racing, followed by Dezza’s $7,619 selling price. If you played RaceClubs.com in GBP, you would see that Dezza sold for £4,800 while Auroborealis sold for £3,927.

That’s a difference of $82 or £873, depending upon your exchange rate but ultimately the only thing that matters is not how much your horse cost you but how much it earned for you!

Training is the key to success. Let Derekw10 show you how on Raceclubs.com

Derekw10's Training Guide.

I like to think of this as the most advance training guide you can get without me training your horses my self. This training guide is how I train every horse in the Derekw10 stable. I have rules that I stick to in training and I would say I find every horse best distance and going in 2 cycles…….. Most of the time.

Step 1 – Three it’s the magic number
Step 1 is the most important rule in there Derekw10 stable.
The first 3 tts should be over the same track & going at 1400, 2200 and 2850, without any tack applied.
Once you have completed these 3 tts it is very easy (most of the time) to tell what type of horse you have a sprinter, classic or stayer.

The way to tell what type of horse you have is by looking at the lengths gap between 1400-2200 and 2200-2850. There is a way to master this but of cause that will come with playing the game.

Sprinter Example
1400
2200 this TT will only be slightly higher or lower than the 1400 TT
2850 this TT must be slightly higher or lower than the 2200 TT

Classic Example
2200 This TT will be higher than 1400 TT, and the 2850 TT will be slightly higher or lower than the 2200 TT.

Stayer Example
2850 The 2200 TT will be higher than the 1400 TT, then you will see the same improvement or more from 2200 TT to the 2850 TT.

That is the basic first 3 TTs.

Step 2 – Check other distances.

NOTE – I never train a horse over 1800, I believe most 2200 horse and some 1600 horses are good at 1800, but the only way to tell is to race your horse over this distance. I race all my 2200 horses at 1800 and they have all done well.

Ok so you know have your sprinter, Classic or a stayer horse but what next.

NOTE – Dont experiment over other tracks / goings yet.

Sprinters Horses
After the first 3 tts I then train at 1000,1200,1400,1600
I can not explain here what you are looking for TT wise it’s just something you cannot teach. However I can help out.
Some horses drop so much at 1000 compared to 1400 that you can tell the horse will not be a 1000 horse.
Other horses drop at 1600 from 1400 so you know that your horse won’t be a 1600 horse.
This part of training you cannot teach it’s by playing the game and taking notes you’re soon be able to spot what is needed.

Classic Horses
I train at 2200 then again at 2400
To tell if your horse gets 2400 you are really looking for an improvement sometimes you may need more depending on the horse. Again something you cannot teach.

Stayer Horses
I train at 3200.
You can tell if your horse stays the 3200 distance by how much it drops from its 2850 tt. If your horse drops a big amount from 2850 to 3200 then the chances are your horse will not stay the 3200 distance. However if there is only a slight drop from 2850 to 3200 this normally means your horse will stay the 3200 distance.

In some cases your horse may drop a little more and still get the 3200 so if you are unsure might be an idea to race over the distance.

NOTE Some times your horse may only drop slightly with no Equipment on over 3200 but once you have added shoes, geld and blinkers you can drop more and therefore will not stay the 3200 distance. It is always best to double, triple check this distance in future training cycles.

Step 3 –Applying Equipment BLINKERS

NOTE – Dont experiment over other tracks / goings yet.

For each distance you have completed the following number of tts.
Sprinters 7 tts
Classic 5 tts
Stayers 4 tts

Now let’s go back to the 3 main distances depending on your type of horse give one more tt.

Sprinter 1400
Classic 2200
Stayer 2850

Now its time to add the blinkers, so ADD BLINKERS, train once over the following distance.

Sprinter 1400
Classic 2200
Stayer 2850

Once you have added blinkers you are looking for an improvement on the next TT. The reason it's best to add blinkers before any other equipment is because there is less random involved and will give you a truer reading. Any improvement with blinkers is normally good but to be sure you are really looking improvement every time you put the blinkers on. If you put the blinkers on and your horse TT drop this will normally mean your horse has not taken to the blinkers and are best left off.

DOUBLE CHECK BLINKERS
Take the blinkers off, train once over the following distances.

Sprinter 1400
Classic 2200
Stayer 2850

PUT BLINKERS BACK ON.
Now the blinkers are back on, train once over the following distances.
Sprinter 1400
Classic 2200
Stayer 2850

If both times your horse has improved from blinkers then its pretty safe to say your horses likes them if your horse has lost performance both times then its safe to say your horse has not taken to them. Sometimes blinkers can be a real struggle to work out in this case I believe the best thing to do is 2 training cycles one with blinkers and one without to see what times you get at full fitness, but this will be in later training cycles.

Step 4 - Applying Equipment

NOTE – Dont experiment over other tracks / goings yet.

So far for each distance you have completed the following number of tts.
Sprinters 11 tts
Classic 9 tts
Stayers 8 tts

Now its time to apply the rest of your equipment
Colts - Apply shoes and apply geld.
Fillies - You can only apply shoes as they don’t have anything to cut off.

Train over the following distance.
Sprinter 1400
Classic 2200
Stayer 2850

By now your horse will be getting near to full fitness this is a good time depending on what type of horse you have to maybe just train over a few distances. Please keep training now to your horse flips.

For example
Sprinters
Train at 1200 and 1600 before flipping at 1400
Classic
Train at 2400 (if it gets 2400) before flipping at 2200.
Stayer
Train at 3200, then maybe even 2400 before flipping at 2850.

Step 5 – Finding the best going.
I do this by using the auto train. A lot of people won’t want to use this but I think it’s a great feature that RC added to the game and I take full advantage of it.

I set the auto train to
Track All
Going All
Train If Below 90%
Then depending on the horse I train at the following.
Sprinter 1400
Classic 2200
Stayer 2850

Once your horse reaches 90% it is time to study the tts. You are looking for something that standout. This sometimes is easy to spot and other times not so much. The more horses you train the easier this becomes.

Example
This is an example cycle of a horse on what different grounds to try.

Australia (turf)-2850-Soft
Dubai (dirt)-2850-Fast
England (turf)-2850-Firm
Australia (turf)-2850-Yielding
Canada (dirt)-2850-Muddy
Hong Kong (turf)-2850-Good
England (turf)-2850-Soft
America (dirt)-2850-Fast
Hong Kong (turf)-2850-Firm
England (turf)-2850-Yielding
Dubai (dirt)-2850-Muddy

Remember to study the TTs you are looking for a TT that stands out. As an example if over Hong Kong Good you were hitting a higher TT at 70% than England Firm 83% then this would be a good stand out that your horse will like Good ground over muddy.

Once at 90% I train the horse on the Track, Distance, and Going that stands out until it flips.

Step 6 Finishing up.

Once you have completed these 2 cycles it is a good idea to train more and more to find your horses 2nd best going and more. Some horses can be a one ground horse while others will be good at all grounds and goings. I also like to train all sprinters at 1000-1600, Classic horses at 2200/2400 and Stayers at 2400-3200 just so I have a better idea on how good my horse is.

I hope you enjoy as much success with my training guide as I have.

Hey Santa! All I Want For Christmas is a pony- and some Christmas races!

Dear Santa,

Christmas is just around the corner and after 364 days of me just giving, giving, giving it’s about time I got something too for a change. I don’t expect much but I do expect something decent.

On that note, I want something store bought, none of that homemade tat your glue-sniffing elves keep peddling. I really don’t care what you get me so long as it is expensive and you leave the price tag on because I’m probably going to exchange it for something I really want or at least push for a cash refund.

I’m sincerely concerned about the impact all that superfluous packaging has on the environment so I expect cash instead of gift-wrapping. Oh yeah, and don’t bother about the card because I don’t really care who sent it just so long as I get it on time.

I also expect a whole day of Christmas racing from RaceClubs.com, which better be sponsored because it is better to give than it is to receive, or so I’ve been led to believe. And for once, I hope the Race Programmer can get the goings right because I don’t waste my time training horses to find out their goings when I can have more fun complaining about them in the forums. And in the spirit of Christmas and all things being equal, I want equal sponsorships for my colts and fillies. Maybe even for all my horses regardless of age sex, colour, handicap or grade. Maybe £126.00 for colts and another £126.00.

Anyhow, I don’t have time to get too specific coz I know you’ll stuff it up again like you’ve done every year since my childhood, and just to make it easy for you I’m not hanging up socks or cleaning up after dead trees so you can just leave it all here under the
Christmas Races. Maybe a lucky draw along these lines for all horses that race in the Christmas races. Pleaese! (Not really sure how to spell that, Santa).

£75.60 G1 Colt
£40.95 G2 Colt
£9.45 G3 Colt

£75.60 G1 Filly
£40.95 G2 Filly
£9.45 G3 Filly

Regards
Me!

PS: However you spend your holidays, we wish you the best one ever!

Win $400 this Sunday in the Potluck Sunday races on Raceclubs.com

Take a chance in the Potluck Sunday races!

A potluck is a gathering of people where each person or group of people contributes a dish of food prepared by the person or the group of people, to be shared among the group. Potluck dinners are often organized by religious or community groups, since they simplify the meal planning and distribute the costs among the participants. Smaller, more informal get-togethers with distributed food preparation may also be called potlucks. The only traditional rule is that each dish be large enough to be shared among a good portion (but not necessarily all) of the anticipated guests. In some cases each participant agrees ahead of time to bring a single course, and the result is a multi-course meal. Guests may bring in any form of food, ranging from the main course to desserts. Sometimes the variety can be overwhelming, other times it’s a case of you take what you can get.

In the United States, potlucks are associated with crockpot dishes, casseroles, dessert bars and jello salads. The word pot-luck appears in 16th century England, in the work of Thomas Nashe, and was there used to mean "food provided for an unexpected or uninvited guest, the luck of the pot". The sense "communal meal, where guests bring their own food", appears to have originated in the late 19th century or early 20th century US, particularly in the Western United States, either by influence from potlatch or possibly by extension of traditional sense of "luck of the pot". To the Irish, a potluck was a meal with no particular menu. Everyone participating brought a dish for all to share. The term comes from a time when groups of Irish women would gather together and cook dinner. They only had one pot so they cooked the meal together with whatever ingredients they happened to have that day.

RaceClubs.com is inviting all trainers to race in any of the Potluck Sunday races this Sunday. Prizes worth £252.00 must be won but you’re going to have to take what you can get because only the horses that place first or last in the Sunday Potluck races will be entered into the draw. It’s an opportunity to race your best and your worst horses for an entry into the lucky draw.

Graham Clifford's view from the stands on the European Championships!

Biography: Graham is a reporter for the Irish Independent newspaper and is based in London. He presented on the Raceclubs/Getminted horse racing TV show in Britain a number of years back and is the former sports editor of the Irish Post newspaper. Also he has been a broadcast and print journalist for the last decade working in the U.K., Australia and in his native Ireland. He presents a show on local BBC radio in the South East of England and claims to have Psychic powers. He once worked as a body double for Johnny Vegas and represented Slovakia in last year’s Eurovision song contest with the song “random factor blues”!

Quietly as you go!

From Brown Willy to Kill and on to Bell End there are some weird and wonderfully named places on these Isles. When I was young our Gaelic football side at home used to play against a team from a place called Spa, just outside Killarney – very politically incorrect I know. The winner of the £10 in bonus credits on offer this week is the Gedgeys Top Guns stable who told us “Here in Norfolk when we go to Wells on Sea we have to be very quiet as pass by Little Snoring and then Great Snoring” – yes there were funnier and ruder place names but I like the context! Incidentally I used to work for Western Union money transfer as a teen and once had to ring an agent in Bald Knob, Arkansas to sort out a money wire for someone, could hardly talk to the person involved without giggling like a little school girl on the phone!

Nail-biting time ahead of Euro 2012 draw

As you’ll notice this week’s View From the Stands is slightly off topic and with good reason. If you haven’t seen my Challenge Series reviews check out the Race Articles section of the forums. Every word in every article is completely and utterly true! After writing the reviews I thought I was seeing horses in my bedroom, in the lift at work, in Church! As I write I’m sitting in a café in Dublin. Ireland is on the edge of its metaphorical seat as we await the draw for next summer’s European Championships in Poland and the Ukraine. We’re allowed to get over-excited, these will be only our second Euros ever! Who will we get!!! I had a dream last night and here’s how I think our group will end up…wonder if I should find a bookmakers?

GROUP A

Rep of Ireland

The Night Before Christmas (the alternative version!)

Twas the night before Christmas - Old Santa was pissed. He cussed out the elves and threw down his list.
Miserable little brats, ungrateful little jerks I have a good mind to scrap the whole works.
I've busted my ass for damn near a year, Instead of "Thanks Santa" - what do I hear? The old lady bitches cause I work late at night The elves want more money - The reindeer all fight.
Rudolph got drunk and goosed all the maids Donner is pregnant and Vixen has AIDS And just when I thought that things would get better Those assholes from IRS sent me a letter
They say I owe taxes - if that ain't damn funny Who the hell ever sent Santa Clause any money? And the kids these days - they all are the pits They want the impossible ...Those mean little gits
I spent a whole year making wagons and sleds Assembling dolls...Their arms, legs and heads I made a ton of yo yo's - No request for them They want computers and robots...they think I'm IBM!
Flying through the air...dodging the trees Falling down chimneys and skinning my knees I'm quitting this job...there's just no enjoyment I'll sit on my fat ass and draw unemployment
There's no Christmas this year...now you know the reason I found me a blonde.. I'm going SOUTH for the season!

Season’s greetings

As we enter a new season I’d like to wish all our wonderful trainers the very best for the weeks ahead. May your horses do you proud and may Charlie Saxon be a regular visitor to your door.

Meet the first time Challenge Series Winners on RaceClubs.com!

Every Challenge Series victory is worth celebrating because it is the ultimate accolade for every trainer to be recognized as a consummate champion in the competitive world of virtual horse racing on RaceClubs.com.

The months of preparation are often fraught with frustration and anticipation, because victory on the final day can be as elusive as a dream, and one daren’t allow one’s optimism to get the better of one’s senses. For some trainers that suppressed enthusiasm can explode into euphoria as their horses cross over the finish line, unfortunately for others, it can implode into misery, but the fact remains that nothing can compare to the joy that follows when one wins their first Challenge Series.

Imagine the celebrations that ripped through the stables of Divine Diva Stables, Ginger Richards Stud, Halligan Racing Club, Mac Hardy and Nightmare Stable as they experienced the thrill of their first Challenge Series victory.

Divine Diva Stables is no stranger to the Challenge Series, in the last five seasons she’s competed in no less than 64 Challenge Series with 13 places, but it was Papa Sangre’s spirited performance in The Derby that finally secured Divine Diva her first title. Papa Sangre may have been a ‘sales ring special’ but today’s he’s a bona fide champion!

Ginger Richards Stud’s Nunthorpe Sprint Final (Fillies) title was literally sent by the gods in the form of his 3Y filly, Sent By The Gods, who secured Ginger his first Challenge Series victory after only five tries. Technically, Ginger Richards Stud is only a rookie in the Challenge Series, but thanks to his Nunthorpe title he’s also champion.

After nine runs and no places in any of his Challenge Series, Halligan Racing Club went full throttle on the back of Rebellious Spirit to win the Nunthorpe Sprint Final (Colts). Halligan has only been racing virtual horses for 6 months before deciding that he has what it takes to compete in the ultimate challenge on RaceClubs.com.

It’s taken Nightmare Stable five years to make it into the winners circle in a Challenge Series race, but that just proves that with perseverance and determination one can accomplish anything on RaceClubs.com. With 107 and 9 Challenge runs under his belt, it was Bomb Surprise who exploded through the Stayers Challenge Final Juvenile to make Nightmare Stable’s biggest dream come true.

But it was Mac Hardy who scored a double dip in the Challenge Series, winning both the Classic Challenge Final Juvenile and Stayers Challenge Final Juvenile with his colts Bogan Josh and Doovalacky. Virtual horse racers would know that’s no easy feat but he made it look effortless!

Winning your first Challenge Series may seem near impossible, probably because it is, but that’s what virtual horse racing is all about, achieving the impossible!

Congratulations to Divine Diva Stables, Ginger Richards Stud, Halligan Racing Club, Mac Hardy and Nightmare Stable on your first Challenge Series victory- may it be the first of many more!

The witching hour is fraught with aging badly!

The Witching Hour

For some, the witching hour is best associated with ghouls, ghosts and goblins. Spells and potions are conjoured. Halloween has passed but the RaceClubs.com clock keeps ticking and for many the sands of time have run out. For others, a new dawn brings fresh promise. The birth of something special, maybe? A new quest begins for those who have the talent and enthusiasm is hype. There may be a few tears along the way and tales of joy or misfortune but for all the hardship, time and dedication given to this glorious game, the inevitable will occur. Our stable stalwarts have reached the grand old age and lay resting in cyber space for eternity. The empty spaces in your stable where your champions used to bed are cleaned out for the last time. The memories remain, even if the horses don't. The scent of anticipation wafts slowly into the distance as your stable star fails to live up to expectation and you are forced to evaluate your old and existing breed, ready to lay down the challenge in another dramatic chapter in your journey as a trainer, I speak of course about one thing, the new season.

As the clock struck twelve, four of RaceClubs.com's greatest ever horses said farewell to the track for good. El Nino Got A Bro, Sir Sam Silver, Urban Legend and Ultimate Fantasy were and will remain legends of the track. Between them they have posed for the camera ahead of the pack on 685 ocasions within the garded and challenge scene and amassed a remarkable share of £50,181 and all will leave their legacy with claim to being a challenge final winner. The end was sweet for Sir Sam Silver and El Nino Got A Bro, as both horses signed off with a win on World Challenge Day but alas, Urban Legend and Ultimate Fantasy failed in their quest to leave that last lingering smile on their trainers face, although it will be their presence that will be missed, rather than the memory of that last win. Whether you're a lover or hater of the monsters, if you feel they belong in the game or not, they will be missed, mainly by many for the wrong reason. So, it is hear we bid them a fond farewell and all head to the sales ring to try and catch their clone, however, something tells me that we won't be seeing any of them again for quite some time as the new breed of monster reigns supreme.

As many a flame dies, there are many more that stand on the precipice of uncertainty. It's enough to send shivers down your spine and have grown men and women scream blue murder at their computer screen. Many a dog or cat have be scorn by the fury that some trainers have displayed when hitting the training button for the very first time, come age change. We are all night owls when it comes to season's end. Happily brewing up the tea and sat waiting for the moment to come. Hair loss has become the norm for some and drastic measures have been taken by the few that claim to have no hair to pull out. For they have put the shaver over, down to the wood as hair pulling can become quite painful, especially if the age change is not good for you. A very wise tactic! The trainers at RaceClubs.com are of all walks of life, a diverse batch of society who love nothing more than shouting and cheering when their virtual nags head allcomers at the line. Fickle, some would say, personally, most of us are mad. We are addicts beyond normality. We crave success, longing to be the one who nutures and unleashes a champion to have his foes look upon him or her with envy, wondering why we couldn't have pulled that one from the ring.

We all love this game, in our own little peculiar way but we all share one thing in common, nobody is safe from the despair of a bad age change. Caterpillars must all coccoon on the first day of each RaceClubs.com trimester and sprout wings in the bellies of all trainers, just before midnight, as there are shed loads of butterflies to be seen at this time. The trainer that takes it all in his stride is the one whom we all want to be. The one who shakes off a bad age change as if nothing more was expected. For they are the royal marine, lethal in their ways, cold to the core, nothing raises their eyebrow. They show no weakness, no fear and have a bring-it-on attitude but even the hardened player can't escape a bad age change. We talk it up and then we play it down, some quiver in the corner of the forum, afraid to mention how badly their yard has been affected but many keep quiet, why is this? Maybe it's because they fear the backlash from the forums if they even mention they've had a good age change. No, it's because they play their cards close to their chest, poker faced to the end. Thay are not about to mention all the good age changes they have had because you don't remember them, you only remember the bad ones.

The age change can be bad. It can also be good but the fundamental thing you all have to remember when tackling the age achnge is to resist the urge to fire up your virtual gun. Over the seasons many horses have been shot because they have not been given a fair crack of the whip by their trainers. It is certainly not unsual to witness the best of a horses age change after maybe four or five training cycles. It is all too easy to think you have had a bad one because your first flip is poor. Don't let this deceive you. More often than not you have jumped the gun in more than one way. The first thing to consider after the age change is to train some more and then train again. Look for the maximum and push your horse to the limits, you may be pleasantly suprised. The second thing to consider is that you may not be the only one who has suffered such a fate. Think about it, your horse has aged and trained on but how do you know how he or she will compete if you don't even give them the chance. The way to see things is from another perspective. Maybe your horse has had the best age change in their age group, it's possible. You will never know this if you hastily reach for the bazuka. Training times vary from season to season, so do age change pecentages, too many horses are the subject of abuse post age change, it's a crime, somebody call animal welfare!

Divine Diva wins her first Challenge Series on Raceclubs.com!
