Derekw10 Invests In The Future Of Virtual Horse Racing
Derekw10’s future in virtual horse racing looks assured if his latest purchase lives up to its price tag.
He just paid £4,799.97 for Dezza, an unraced two year old virtual racehorse from Amber Fields’ stable, in the latest online auction at RaceClubs.com. While the virtual horse racing community is excited about the record-breaking transfer they aren’t sure what to expect from Dezza because Amber Fields cleverly concealed Dezza’s highest training records so they weren’t visible for public consumption and Derekw10 stubbornly refuses to release any video footage of Dezza’s training runs. The only reliable information about Dezza potential is his price tag- and that’s not a comforting thought.
Derekw10 does admit that even though he hasn’t decided how he’s going to race the young colt, he does foresee a future that includes Dezza winning the Ladbrokes Monthly Challenge, Stayers Challenge Final, The Derby and the St. Leger and the Cesarewitch Challenge Final to become the greatest horse in the history of RaceClubs.com. Or, he adds, “I might race him all out!”
Investing £4,799.97 in a virtual race horse may seem imprudent but it’s not uncommon in the virtual horse racing community for trainers to sell their horses for thousands of dollars on RaceClubs.com. It’s all part of the game, where owning a champion race horse capable of competing in the Challenge Series is equally rewarding and prestigious. The highest selling price for a virtual horse was established when Pompadours sold Auroborealis for £4,851.63. Dezza slots in at £4,799.97, followed by Holteender, Public Enemy No1 and He's A Goodone, who all sold for over £3,150.00 and still earned double their selling price. But it looks like Derekw10 might even set his sights on replacing La Gazza Ladra as the highest earning horse of all time.
One thing the virtual horse racing community can anticipate from the Derekw10 / Drezza partnership is some of the most exciting racing from one of the site’s most knowledgeable trainers on one of the most exciting horses of our time.

RaceClubs.com is played in numerous currencies so for consistent recordkeeping all transactions are converted to US dollars while other currencies would fluctuate. Therefore, Auroborealis’ $7,701 selling price makes him the most expensive horse in the world of virtual horse racing, followed by Dezza’s $7,619 selling price. If you played RaceClubs.com in GBP, you would see that Dezza sold for £4,800 while Auroborealis sold for £3,927.
That’s a difference of $82 or £873, depending upon your exchange rate but ultimately the only thing that matters is not how much your horse cost you but how much it earned for you!
