Eternal Elysium injects lethal finish at line

Eternal Elysium Shotgun Mike Kieran Doyle

Championship Series Standings

Shotgun Mike's horses are running with grit and determination of late and todays winner Eternal Elysium was no exception. Never known when beat, the yards runners seem to battle tooth and nail to the line when the chips are down. Eternal Elysium had pressed all race to lead from the off, only to be headed up the straight by Lethal Injection. Classically had tried to go with them early but couldn't keep taps on the front two until a late rally from the Squeaky Clean Stable representative put him closest at the finish. Kieran Doyle asked for more entering the final two aboard the winner and he got his result. Working hard up the straight and looking assured of at least second place, Eternal Elysium got his head back in front inside the final furlong to record a well earned victory for horse and rider. Lethal Injection can feel a little hard done by to lose the race right at the death but this Stardust Racing colt has been handled tentatively this season and despite not winning a qualifying race sits at the top of the standings with thirty-two points. The juvenile colt challenge scene is fruitful and we will se no less than three consolation instances of this Monthly Challenge with a total of forty-nine horses already raced.
