Prince Comes Of Age In Classic Challenge Qualifier

The juvenile divisions are really starting to hot up and this weekend produced some top quality racing from the newest generation of virtual equine athletes to hit the computer generated turf and dirt tracks at RaceClubs.com.

In only six career starts to date, Gallipoli Prince, owned by Gissys Nags had already managed to win a Monthly League Challenge Qualifier and had also accomplished third and second place finishes in both a classic qualifier and a stayers qualifier. The bay colt was now looking to add a Classic Challenge Qualifier Juvenile victory to an already impressive resumé.

Amongst the opposition was Sky Castle Stables' Monthly League Challenge Qualifier winner, Veandercrosse and Divine Diva Stables' Kamikraziee. This bay colt held perhaps the strongest form of all, bidding here for a third classic qualifier win in his fourth attempt.Gallipoli Prince was too strong for these and all others on this occasion though and he ran out a convincing winner under Wayne Bailey. Kopites' last time out stayers handicap winner, Splodgenessabound was second and Castle Crooks Farm's gray colt, Nicolaus Silver finished third.

The Classic Challenge Qualifier Juvenile Fillies saw Westdene Stables' remarkable gray filly, Luscious, extend her unbeaten record to three wins from three career starts, adding this event to the Stayers Challenge Qualifier Juvenile Fillies she won previously. She won with plenty in hand from Ditch Heath's Sakura Diva. She Devil's She Will Survive, a previous classic qualifier winner, finished third, making the winner look very handy indeed.

The standings for the colts' final for this event now shows Kamikraziee leading the way three points ahead of Gallipoli Prince. Splodgenessabound is a further two points behind in third place. The standings for the fillies equivalent, at this early stage, shows She Will Survive on her own out in front with sixteen points so far. Luscious scores six points for this win.

The Stayers Challenge Qualifier Juvenile Fillies looked a tight affair on paper with several of the runners either having won or been placed in previous qualifiers, including both stayers and classic distances. Enter The Wu Tang, owned by shotgun_mike, had previously run third in a classic qualifier and looked convincing in winning here over this extra distance. The chestnut filly was winning for the second time in five attempts, Sergio Ramirez taking the ride this time. She was a little more than a half length too good for Team Johansson's Majestic Indiana with Divine Diva Stables' Island Diva taking third place.

The colts' division resulted in a narrow victory for Castle Crooks Farm's Dark Psychedelic. The bay colt had previously won a Monthly League Challenge Qualifier over this distance and seems to relish this 3200m extreme trip. Kopites' Who Killed Bambi and Glenloch's Hercule Poirot were the two to follow him home.

It is very early in the day to be looking towards the finals for these juvenile events with many useful two year olds no doubt still waiting to make their debuts but She Devil's She Will Survive currently heads Luscious and Enter The Wu Tang in the standings for the fillies while the colts standings show Who Killed Bambi up top ahead of Divine Diva Stables' Grand Samurai and Fanfield's Red Carra.
