The RaceClubs.com Challenge Series - - Wednesday 1st September ~ Tuesday 7th September - - 3200m MuddySt Leger Challenge Qualifier 3YO Coltsto view race click above link | El Legendario | Shotgun Mike | settled with leader in sight, lost pitch and fell towards rear, regained bit and closed from halfway, made very good progress to lead close home | 2nd | Dusk Til Dawn | Sky Castle Stables | clear early, extended lead to halfway, led in final straight, attempted to make all, headed approaching line, unlucky | 3rd | Never Yield | Unconte Stable | settled rail, shaken to take closer order, lost second round turn, rallied but no extra final 200m | 4th | International Spy | Divine Diva Stables | back marker early, made a little ground to halfway, soon rear again, came again late | El Legendario and Dusk Til Dawn continue to show just why their trainers invested so highly in their talent. Between them they commanded over £2500 at auction when they went under the hammer last season and both horse continue to repay their investment. Never Yield and International Spy were both sales ring purchases for their respective owners, Unconte Stables and Divine Diva Stables and have both contested well at the highest level. The honours on this occasion went to El Legendario but Dusk Til Dawn is not averse to turning the tables. The Sky Castle Stables colt has now secured enough runs for qualification into the final at the end of the season, joining El Legendario and International Spy who also have enough in the bank to make the St Leger line-up. Positive | Dusk Til Dawn completes his fourth run in the series to ensure he will be in the St Leger final line-up | Negative | The obvious negative would be the field size but with 3200m being the distance, the field was always going to be short of numbers | 2850m MuddyCesarewitch Qualifier 4-7YO Coltsto view race click above link | Diamond Dust | Winning Post | quick away, shaken to lead, opened up clear advantage halfway, stayed on to line | 2nd | Inspirational | Shotgun Mike | early pace to challenge lead, 2nd at halfway, closed on leader, stayed on, nearest finish | 3rd | Satans Wrath | Shotgun Mike | slow away, towards back through 800m, at rear halfway, significant headway making turn, 3rd into straight, ran on well | 4th | Songs Of Freedom | Queen Bee | settled early near rail, tracked midfield going well, stayed on from halfway, ran on well | 5th | Apache Dream | Shotgun Mike | held up, steady headway from halfway, still rear entering straight, stayed on past tired horses | 6th | Mighty Gerrard | Wrs Stables | ridden to handy pitch first 800m, midfield from halfway, 4th exiting turn, one pace | 7th | Dulcify (NZ) | Sky Castle Stables | midfield and settled, headway approaching straight, lost pitch off turn, stayed on same pace | 8th | Hail To The Thief | Sky Castle Stables | settled rear, last halfway, progress on inner final third | 9th | Latin Glory | Queen Bee | slow away, tracked chasing pack, midfield and asked to quicken entering straight, no response, came again late, one pace | 10th | Fusion Power | Green Dale | raced alone wide, headway on outer to halfway, continued wide throughout, no chance with winner | 11th | Wings Of Freedom | Queen Bee | midfield tracking pace setters, lost position round turn, never recovered | 12th | Double Fortune | Sky Castle Stables | with chasing pack to halfway, slowly back peddled off turn | 13th | Master Of Doom | Shotgun Mike | slow away, ridden to take closer order to halfway, faded gradually | 14th | Path To Freedom | Queen Bee | showed up early upsides leaders, 3rd halfway, weakened thereafter | Diamond Dust's second outing to the races this season proved a very fruitful one for the Winning Post yard. Following up his good fourth in a King George qualifier, the five year old colt stamped his authority on the race from halfway. In the blink of an eye and not something you would associate with a stayer, the field were left trailing in his wake, opening up a seven length lead over his rivals. Seemingly taking a breather rounding the turn and allowing the runner-up, Inspirational to close the gap, the colt was again asked to quicken and quicken he did. The line came and Diamond Dust never looked like losing the race down the final straight, staying on really well to the line to collect the prize. The second was nearest at the finish but just didn't have the extra to push the winner harder. A nice victory in some style for Diamond Dust and connections. Following Inspirational at the tape was another of Shotgun Mike's charge. Making his seasonal reappearance was the seven year old colt, Satans Wrath. Void of any early toe, the grey was left wanting early in the race. A difficult task followed when approaching the turn for home, a full field of runners to negotiate lay ahead. The ground the horse made making the turn and into the straight was impressive and must be considered the eye catcher of the race. Closer at halfway and we may have seen a different result. The other two runners out of the yard, Apache Dream and Master Of Doom finished fifth and thirteenth, respectively. There were mixed fortunes in the race for Queen Bee. The yard saddled four runners in the race with Songs Of Freedom fending off the late charge of Apache Dream to hold on and secure fourth place. Latin Glory, Path To Freedom and Wings Of Freedom all failed to stamp any authority in the race and finished well down the field. Sky Castle Stables had three runners to view and judging by their final positions, one can only assume that they were racing for qualification points. Of today’s runners, only Path To Freedom and Latin Glory have completed the mandatory four races to ensure qualification for the finals festival but with a lot of racing still to come this season The Cesarewitch is again proving to be a healthy series with no less than sixty-four horses competing in the qualifiers to date. Early pace setters, Path To Freedom and Chainsaw have amassed thirty-two points each at the head of the standings, the latter has also secured the four race requirement. Positive | Satans Wrath put in a spirited effort when coming from a long way off the pace to make the frame | Negative | No negative to come from the race | Member Submission: Moletown Starting Points- Join RaceClubs.com - Buy a Horse with cash - Enter into a Race Race to win at the RaceClubs.com track...
