Soccer Preview Don’t Cry For Argentina Against South Korea! Despite both teams winning their opening matches; Argentina is expected to win their match against South Korea today when they meet Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa. That’s not a slight against South Korea, they’ve played excellent soccer at the 2010 World Cup against Greece but Argentina just has the strongest team of individual players, and when compared against South Korea on has to side with the team that is greater than the sum of its parts. We’re thinking the collective efforts of likes of Messi, Tevez, and Higuain will outweigh even the brilliant of Ji-Sung Park. This is a hard race to preview because Argentina only beat Nigeria by a narrow 1-0 while South Korea scored 2-0 against Greece. But look at the quality of their opposition: The Nigerians were far stronger completion than the Greeks so Argentina’s victory outweighs South Koreas. We’ll be pleasantly surprised if South Korea shoots the goals ahead of Argentina but we don’t expect anything less than a fevered onslaught to try get past Argentina’s goalposts or to defend their kicks. It’s going to be a ferocious game because while the Argentineans know they can beat South Korea, the South Koreans know it too but don’t expect them to go down without a fight! Let’s not overlook South Korea is a disciplined and very well organized side while the Argentineans can get a little preoccupied with flamboyant crowd pleasing foot play!
