Tongue In Cheek - Pieces! October 2nd 2010 Tweet, It's A Buzz!As you may have noticed, the social networking craze is in full swing. Whether you are a Facebook freak or a Twitter....erm...only one word springs to mind.....tweeter of course, or even if you have never used any of the multitude of options the webbie has to offer, there is no escaping its power. The world has gone social networking nuts! Personally, I have never used any method, until now. I have recently been drawn into the world of social networking, admittedly with reluctance. However, I can't help but think what benefit it has upon the world and can only act as a bond to bring the world together. Let's face it, used sensibly it can be a very powerful and fruitful tool. You may have noticed that my articles are now including a "Tweet" option. I urge all your tweeters out there to pass on your tweets. It can only be a good thing. If one person joins RaceClubs.com as a result of it and that person ensures another player joins then it has to be beneficial for every single trainer. A snowball effect could in fact produce more players which would result in more runners, bigger fields, more prize money on offer and more competitive racing for all virtual trainers. Tweet, It's a buzz! H2H Tocohnas Vs ThesidleyspankerVoting continues to crown the inaugural H2H champion. You can register your vote for who you think should win the $50 in bonus credits, courtesy of the "Bank of Moletown". To register a vote and make one trainer, a happy trainer, visit the most recent article published in the articles forum, you can't miss it, it's the one with the trivial-pursuit-like-cheese-wedge on display. A draw is a possibility with this month's competition very difficult to decide. Voting will close at 12pm (Midday) on Monday (11.00am Game Time). Don't delay, cast your vote today! This month's H2H has already kicked off between Eire Stables and Zip Stables, so for one month they will be on tenterhooks at the beginning of each race, hoping to stay one step ahead of their rival with an eye on the $50 prize. Good Luck Guys! It's All Fantasy, A Tip Is A TipNo I am not talking about a 10% gratuitous offering you might leave a waitress in a restaurant. These tips are more worthwhile and can net you some cool bonus credits for your efforts. The Fantasy Stable Competition will again start a fresh this evening, so if you have some deadwood in your picks and want to make some very needed changes then you'll have to be quick as transfer time is running out. Get those changes onto the thread in the competitions forum, no later than 5pm. Congratulations to the winner of the first monthly competition, Murrumba Downs who pockets a cool $225 with a healthy winning margin of 14 points. Can you take him down this month, only the racing Gods know the answer! The Weekly Fantasy Tipping Competition continues, week eighty-six is in full swing, grats to all last month’s victors. A few more weeks and Jim would have caught up with the ever popular music CD "Now That's What I Call Music" which I believe is now in it's 2741st edition. Gone are the days of a Sunday afternoon sat in front of the radio listening to the charts, hitting "play and record". You now you did it! Put A Feather In Their Cap!A cry not too dissimilar to a certain groan of the "Churchill Dog"....."Oh No, No, No" greeted the hierarchy of the virtual world, when the introduction of the new "Capped" races came into force this week. A new race aimed at the lesser horse didn't exactly meet the community with open arms. A great concept was spoiled only by the huge $8 entry fee which prompted many trainers to harp-on. Thankfully, the all seeing eye of member support passed on the concerns of the community and common sense prevailed, halving the entry fee to $4. The community sighed in relief and their downward pointed corners of their mouths slowly ebbed into a cheesy grin and they stood in applause to embrace the new format. The races will no doubt add another dimension to virtual world and I'm sure there are many out there who will benefit from this type of race. It's so refreshing to see community members thanking on the forums, rather than tearing the decision makers apart. Keep the trends going RC. The Raceclubs Telegraph Fantasy Football - UpdateEverton can't get a win and Wayne Rooney has spent more time on the sidelines in recent times than he spent flashing his wedge (money that is!) in front of a couple of ladies, representing the worlds oldest profession. Blackpool are proving to be tougher than the confectionery their town's people sell during summer season and Roy Hodgson's lisp is taking on a rather distinct scouse accent. All in all the new Premiership season has continued to entertain the masses on and off the pitch. Arsene Wenger still spends most of his Saturday afternoon watching a totally different game to the rest of us and Alex Ferguson is under pressure, evident by his increasingly glowing nose. Recent sales of Glen Fiddich have rocketed in the Manchester area. The real talent lies in our RaceClubs.com managers who have picked their teams with effect week in, week out. Mick Barker (Mick's Heroes) leads the way in the competition with 287 points. His team has scored more goals than any other team although I fear he has taken a gung-ho approach to the game and may be rapidly running low on transfers. I might be wrong and if I am, fairplay Mick! You are showing your son a "Squeaky Clean" set of heels! I Urge You To Have Your SayIf you would like me to write about anything game related, my ears are always open to ideas. If you have a training landmark in sight or would like to introduce yourself to the racing community, drop me a line. Even if you don't like what I am writing, I embrace negative feedback in the same way as positive and would urge you to speak to me about it. I'd much rather receive an inbox message looking at ways to improve my articles, than you keep quiet or send messages to member support. Don't be afraid, I wont bite. I thank you all for your continued support. |
