Admittedly, the stable may have taken a pull on this one with qualification such a long drawn out and tactical process but his eighth place here has secured some good early points and we will probably see the best of this horse in the final itself, should he be good enough to qualify this season. That can also be said about many runners in the race as the trainers use their wisdom to guide their charge to the final with the lowest possible weight to shoulder. One that was definitely up for the win was Dark Assassin. Always going well and cruising into the straight, The Face trained colt looked all over the winner. When a little reign was let out he duly responded and quickened nicely to collar the long time leader Wings Of Freedom who weakened when headed and was unable to hold off the late run of Inspirona Amazian. The Shotgun Mike trained came from a long way off the pace to earn a well deserved second place, forging a half length out of the Queen Bee five year old. Shotgun Mike saddled the fourth in this race also. Let Him Loose made steady progress through every inch of the 2400m distance, albeit a little one paced. All said and done it was a respectable position in the end against some high class opposition. Positive | Inspirona Amazian flew to the line after being at the rear of the field for the best part of the race. Making headway from halfway, the six year old colt ran on strongly and just failed to get to the front. An admirable run from the horse and with a closer pitch in future can rule the roost. | Negative | It's difficult to sum up a negative in this field with so many runners running at low fitness. Sky Castle Stables may have expected to pick up a few more points from Dulcify (NZ) and I Am Hell, a consolation winner last season may well have tipped the scales for this seasons campaign. | The RaceClubs.com Challenge Series Queen Elizabeth Classic Qualifier 4-7YO - - Tuesday 3rd August 2010 - - | Queen Of Egypt | Butlers Yard | Settled and always going well, headway and strong run entering straight | 2nd | Classic Insight | Winning Post | Fast away, quickened from halfway, tried to make all, unlucky | 3rd | Shes Quicker | Shotgun Mike | Raced with pack, wide, ran on entering straight | 4th | Palm Cove | Sky Castle Stables | Mid division most, came to challenge on bit, found little | 5th | Pretty Red Boots | Burkveen Racing | Chased leader, second entering straight, faded when headed | 6th | Sandra | Burkveen Racing | Held up, steady headway, quickened but not reach leaders | 7th | Zenzational | Sky Castle Stables | Always midfield, one pace rails | 8th | Liquid Dreams | Only Fools N Horses | Always midfield, one pace, no chance with winner | 9th | Starlight Requiem | Shotgun Mike | One paced throughout, stayed on at the same pace | 10th | Lupus In Fabula | Derekw10 | Slow away in rear, moved closer to halfway, no challenge straight | 11th | Bella Rossa | RedHalo Racing | Slow away, wide, pushed along, always behind | 12th | Saarah | She Devil | Behind early, never pace to challenge the front | 13th | Speech Of Silence | Winning Post | Slow away, ridden strongly, wide, no chance to show | 14th | Her Royal Majesty | Shotgun Mike | Always in rear | Queen Of Egypt recorded a first win of the series when collaring Classic Insight close home. The winner had settled behind the leaders in a track wide bunch. Always going well she was produced for a run entering the straight. When the jockey said go the response was immediate and she passed Classic Insight with relative ease. Classic Insight had tried to make all the running in the hands of Wayne Bailey but was running on empty close home and couldn't hold off the spirited Queen Of Egypt. Butlers Yard will be pleased with the win and Winning Post will feel there is more to come from his filly this season. Shes Quicker forged a wide run throughout the race and her third in this looks all the more impressive. Unable to get a run toward the rail she was forced to remain out wide and would have probably covered more ground than most in the race. A strong run late on put her in the race and she can count herself a little unlucky not to have finished closer. Palm Cove looked every bit the winner entering the straight. Pedro Ferreira held a double handful and cruised round the turn but the horse flattered to deceive a little when the chips were down. When asked to quicken the horse couldn't match the pace of the strong running winner and couldn't quite get to the runner-up. A well timed run with this horse is what is required as she didn't seem to find much off the bridle and may fair better the longer she remains on the bit. Positive | Classic Insight can take many positives out of the race and with a little thought by her jockey can fend off the opposition under similar conditions. The front running filly looked strong throughout the race but came up a little short close to the line. A qualifier is well within her reach in the near future. | Negative | Although finishing fourth in the race, Pedro Ferreira could have waited on the run of Palm Cove for a little longer. She looked like a winner and no doubt the series will see her a winner but today's run has to go down as bad horsemanship. | Member Submission: Moletown Starting Points- Join RaceClubs.com - Buy a Horse with cash - Enter into a Race Score your goals at the RaceClubs.com track...
