Are major pharmaceutical companies getting in on the act?Members of the independent PMS (Pharmaceutical management screening) organisation are investigating the Tramadol stable to check if there is any link to a major multi-national drugs company. A jockey who wishes to remain nameless (Kita Matsumoto) told officials at a race meet in Hong Kong recently that when he complained of having a headache he was offered a tablet by the Tramadol stable owner to deal with the pain. Reports in this morning’s virtual jockey times questions Matsumoto’s claims however. It reads “One of the major benefits of being virtual is that you don’t get headaches. There’s history between the stable and the owner and his accusation is baseless.” One of the smaller stables in the game Tramadol is none the less a force to be reckoned with. Nine wins in 51 races amassing winnings of £130 since the stable got up and running on the last day of 2010 tells its own story.
