Are your horses claimable for the Cambridgeshire Claimers?

Cambridgeshire Claimers

In line with RaceClubs.com’s policy of creating more exciting horse races that cater for the greater virtual horse racing community we are proud to sponsor the Cambridgeshire Claimers.

If you’re familiar with the Claimers you will know that when entering your horse in a Claimer, you are putting it up for sale as any other member may place a claim on your horse. You own the horse until the end of the race and if it wins you collect the prize money. If someone has claimed it, you will also collect the claim price specified in the name of the race. It is is unlikely that a champion horse will be entered in a Claiming Race as owners will generally not risk losing their champions. Unless of course, a nominating owner has not recognized the true ability of a champion horse in which case the astute claimer will make a prize purchase of a horse that has ability to succeed in Graded Races. The higher value Claiming Races will naturally attract more competitive horses.

RaceClubs.com’s has sponsored the Cambridgeshire Claimers with $600 bonus credits- here’s how to win your share:

All horses that have been claimed through the Cambridgeshire Claimers will be entered into a lucky draw where either the buyer or seller will win $100. Three colts and three fillies will be drawn.

The Cambridgeshire Claimers are running from 19-25 September.
Winners will be announced on Tuesday 27, September.

Did you know that the The Rowley Mile, “Course of Champions”, will be the scene for three of the finest race days of the year when it hosts the historic Cambridgeshire Meeting, which has moved one week earlier in the calendar this year. There are so many great races to look forward to, several of which are being run at Newmarket for the first time thanks to a lot of exciting changes to this hugely anticipated fixture.

With three Group 1s - the highest class of race – alongside one Group 2 race and three Group 3 races, the quality of the meeting is even more exceptional than in the past. Add in the stunning spectacle that is the Betfred Cambridgeshire, one of British racing’s most famous handicaps, and you have all the ingredients for three unbeatable days of sport at the Home of Racing.

Thursday’s racing highlight is the Group 3 Somerville Tattersall Stakes, a seven-furlong contest for two-year-olds. This race has been won by many fine horses, including Grand Lodge and Milk It Mick, who both went on to win the Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes.

Friday sees the action crank up a notch with the running of the Group 1 Shadwell Fillies Mile, an exciting new addition to Newmarket’s portfolio of juvenile races having just been transferred from Ascot. A string of outstanding two-year-old fillies have won this race in the past, several on their way to Classic glory the following year, including champions Bosra Sham and Reams of Verse.

Friday also features two excellent Group 3 contests, the Sakhee Oh So Sharp Stakes and the Nayef Joel Stakes, as well as two Listed races, the Mawatheeq Rosemary Stakes and the Aqlaam Godolphin Stakes, and the Standing For Success Silver Cambridgeshire Handicap for horses that did not make the cut in Saturday’s big race. All in all, it is a truly cracking card!

It gets even better on Saturday, however, with what will unquestionably prove to be one of the best racedays of the year. As well as the drama of the Betfred Cambridgeshire, when more than 30 horses will hurtle up the Rowley Mile track in search of a headline-making victory, tere are two stunning Group 1 events, the Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes for older fillies over a mile and the Jaguar Cars Cheveley Park Stakes, a race that often identifies Europe’s best two-year-old filly over six furlongs.

As if that was not enough, there is also the Group 2 Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes, also transferred from Ascot, which was won by the brilliant Frankel last year.
